Here’s a tasty comp on the reliable Striate Cortex label. These things are packaged in spray painted textured sleeves with various extra gubbins to keep your fingers and eyes entertained whilst your ears are. This is a 10 track comp featuring some of the more underground luminaries of the experimental drone world… the likes of Enfer Boreal, Pink Desert, Spaces Between, Seabuckthorn, Ammonites and other people you’ve probably not heard of. The opener by Deep Loom is a wonderfully textured dark ambient drone piece which is not a million miles away from the likes of Barn Owl. Other highlights are a psych fuzzy guitar thing from Vibrazfuzz complete with more wah-wah than you could shake a shitty stick at, an organ led swirl-fest with some fuzzy drone business going on by Enfer Boreal, a sludgey tribal drum onslaught smothered in shrill feedback by Cannibal Movie, some delightful post rock musings by Spaces Between and a big strummy guitar raga by Seabuckthorn. Loads more on there but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you. Limited edition of just 150 copies!  ~  Phil Norman Records   …
